Aerial Mapping – A Bird’s Eye View
Aerial Mapping is the proof of the daring intelligence of mankind. It is capturing images from an aerial view to map the entire world with live pictures and information which can be analysed and documented. The revolutionary invention of this technology has simplified the correlation of time and distance in a great sense.
Aerial Mapping is graphed by the satellite imaging of aerial photography. It captures images from the satellite giving the pictures from a bird’s eye view. It does not show the elevation of land or other features, unlike topographical maps. Constant transmitting of signals is exchanged from the satellite to produce live images of the particular location.
Aerial Mapping is used to record locations of not only various cities, and places but also areas of sight-seeing, real estate information, government buildings, and enabling the user to find out the various routes and stops of an exact location. The Global Positioning System is a Global satellite navigation system which constantly captures live images from the satellite view on any part of the earth at any given time.
A map image captured from an aerial view, in parts, to form a larger map is known as the orthophotomaps. These maps are linked together to be able to span the whole earth for panning and zooming and browsing. These maps are conveniently used by software and programs such as Google maps and the likes.
With the whole world under the bird’s eye view, every area being captured and kept track of, there was a huge concern about secret military operations which have high security restrictions. That area was then decidedly and purposely made out of focus in respect to their privacy.
Java enabled devices can access aerial maps easily by anyone who needs it. Even hand-held devices such as java enabled mobile phones are used to access these live maps in whichever location you are with the help of satellite aerial mapping programs.
Aerial Mapping is especially useful in tracking events and areas which have been hit by natural disasters and are inaccessible to man in the event of crisis. The government can get updated live images and pictures and be updated of the turn of events and take immediate action. There seems to be no end for technology as it is being improved everyday and as we talk. Satellite imagery has also been able to capture infrared images from the planet mars and space. Everyone can access maps and locations and get to know the exact information of any place at any given time.
