Digital Photography : The Benefits Of Digital Photography.
Nowadays it seems to be unthinkable not to have a digital photo camera. But there are still people who still have not decided whether they want to keep using their analog device or invest in one of those new digital compact cameras of which some look like gadgets.
It is a fact that the analog cameras require more skills from the user than the modern compact digital photo cameras. The digital photo cameras are more and more equipped with electronics and software by the manufacturers to overcome unprofessional use.
Digital photography has a lot of advantages and almost no disadvantages, if any:
Cheaper
It is less expensive because there’s no need for photo film anymore. Film, once exposed, has to be processed in a photo lab. Films are limited to a maximum of 36 images and they are not cheap. After that the images must be printed on quality photo paper. On digital photo cameras a memory card is used to store the photos, but you only have to buy it once. The new generation SD memory cards can store hundreds of images easily and you can use them over and over again. If a memory card gets full, you can transfer the photos onto the hard drive of your PC or an external hard drive.
Easy
The modern digital photo cameras are so easy to use that you only have to point and press the release button when used in automatic mode. Built-in Autofocus, auto exposure and an automatic flash are very common in modern digital photo cameras. Most of the cameras are equipped with a LCD screen to view the photos and to scroll through the various settings if necessary.
Faster
You can see the results on the LCD screen immediately after taking photos. If a photo seems to look blurry it can be deleted with the push of a button. The memory card can be taken out and put in a photo kiosk to print the photos. It takes only a few minutes to transfer the photos from the memory card to your computer’s hard drive.
Flexible
Once the photos are stored on your computer, they can be edited if necessary. Photos can be edited with photo editing software if the lighting, contrast or colours are not satisfactory.
Once you are satisfied with the resulting photos, you can burn them onto a CD and watch them on your TV with the help of a DVD player. You can go to a photo lab to have them printed on quality photo paper.
