Take Better Pictures With A DSLR Camera
Digital SLR cameras have brought pro quality photography equipment to average people. Of course a high quality SLR camera is only one part of what you need to take amazing photographs. You will also have to know exactly how to use your DSLR camera and that can be quite a bit more complicated with a SLR than with a consumer quality point and click.
And I think even more important than knowing the technical stuff is having an artistic eye. You need to develop a great sense of what will make a good photo. A good example of this kind of “good eye” can be seen when looking closely at these Beautiful Photos by one of my favorite artistic photographers.
As far as which camera to buy I can recommend the Canon Rebel XTi DSLR in particular. It’s a fantastic SLR camera that has worked for me without any real problems for approximately 3 years now. It is also rather cheap by the standards of pro quality cameras. You should be warned that those standards are rather high, it’s about $700 even without a lens!
When you learn more about high quality cameras you will come to understand that the lens on the camera is very important. If you are used to point and clicks then you are most likely used to thinking that the megapixel count is the most important thing but that’s not the case with DSLRs at all.
With DSLRs, the lens is what makes the biggest difference in the quality of your photos. In reality the topic of lenses is too complicated for me to cover in this article, I just want to make you aware of how important they are and that if you want to get serious about taking great photos you will have to look into the topic more deeply.
Just like with any other skill, you will only become a better photographer with lots of study and practice. You have to read all about photography and then you will need to take lots of pictures experiencing for yourself all of what you’ve learned!
The Nikon D100 Digital SLR and the Nikon D200 Digital Camera are two great DSLR choices.
