The Canon 1000D camera review

Your suppose to be sad after your daughters wedding. It wasn’t because of losing my little girl. There I was clicking away on my old Kodak 290 taking pictures at the wedding and the reception and it wasn’t until I downloaded the snaps to the computer that I found only a handful were recognisable out of 200.

That’s when I decided to buy a Canon eos 1000D from Amazon. There’s no contest between the Canon and my old Kodak due to the Canon’s autofocus which captures pics over 50 feet away and in such clear pictures too.

The Canon was light in my hand and it handled extremely well after that big bulky Kodak of mine. Once I got the Canon out of the box I had to rummage for the manual which I sat and read before I started snapping away like mad.

The camera comes with an “Optical Image Stabilized” kit lens which lets you take pictures through 18mm to 55mm which is great. The Canon has a great little battery that seems to last for ever as I’ve already taken over 400 shots with it and I haven’t needed to recharge it yet. I always find it annoying having to whip the batteries out of my old Kodak to charge them but now with the Canon with its single battery its become so easy and quick.

On the Kodak it was 4 batteries but on the Canon there’s just 1 which is much more handy. You just flip the latch at the top left and slide the battery in, simple. The bigger the memory card in the camera the more photos you can take.

I looked through the manual when I bought the Canon but it only showed you the important parts of how the camera works but not how to take pictures. I always look out for a book on the gadgets I buy it seems like a good idea when you may not get what you want out of the manual.

My Canon wasn’t simple to use after my Kodak but now several weeks on its the sweetest camera you could ever want. I’ve definitely come up in the world since I bought my Canon. Posters are not the sort of thing I would have thought of doing with my Canon but if it can do that what else can it do.

One problem that crops up a lot when you buy separate electronic gear is that when you plug it in to your laptop the machine says it can’t find anything but that’s not the case here. I plugged in the Canon via the USB line that came in the kit and the laptop recognized it immediately without me having to run any software first. All of a sudden there it was as if by magic.

When I was choosing a camera the Canon wasn’t my first choice but am I glad I changed my mind and now I urge anybody thinking of buying a camera to look long and hard at this model.
